Marin, the ambassador of Cuba country who initiated
Hyderabad, March 18: The Cuban Trade Center was inaugurated in Hyderabad. It was unveiled by the country’s ambassador Alexandru Marin along with Jayesh Ranjan, principal secretary, state IT department. Marin was the chief guest at the India-Cuba Summit-2022 held at the HICC on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that a trade center has been set up to enhance bilateral relations between India and Cuba. He said the two countries would further expand agricultural, tourism, and trade ties. Indian President Ramnath Kovind said relations between the two countries have improved in all fields since his visit to Cuba. He said Cuba has huge potential for trade and commerce in renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, medicine, IT, and industrial development. He said India was in favor of imports of food processing, sugar, cigars, and coffee products. He hoped that Hyderabad would be a platform for development in the areas of trade and commerce between the two countries. Jayesh Ranjan said that the IT sector in the state has developed significantly. He said there were opportunities to expand the food processing sector. He explained that the state trade policy is very favorable for investments. Meanwhile, the Latin American Caribbean Federation of India (LACFI) handed over the appointment letter to Dr. Murthy Devarabotla as the Cuban Trade Commissioner for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The event was attended by Cuba Mission Deputy Chief Abel Despagine, MEA Head Dasari Balayya, IPS Officer Sridhar Rao, Co-ordinator Tasmeen, and other business leaders.
